Gameplay

In this card game, players play the role of magicians studying at the School of Magic. Each player tries to collect the necessary components to produce magic elixirs, powders, talismans, and even magic creatures. For each entity collected, the player receives points: the more difficult the recipe, the more points the player will receive when he collects it. [one]

The deck consists of 76 cards. On each card below, one of the 16 elements is indicated, and at the top - a recipe or spell. Each player starts the game with 4 cards in his hand. 4 cards face up on the "Element Table". Players can use these common elements to collect recipes from their hands.

On his turn, the player draws a card until he has 5 cards in his hand, then he plays one or more cards from his hand. He can: [1]

  • Put the card as an element on the Elements Table. The player receives 1 point if such an element has not yet been presented on the Table.
  • Take items from the Elements Table to play a recipe from your hand. The player receives points for the collected element according to the number indicated at the top of the map. cards of ingredients are placed face down over the card of the recipe collected. The card of the collected recipe is put face up so that all players see the recipe.
  • Use one or more previously collected recipes along with the required items - to assemble a more complex recipe.

All items for the corresponding recipes are returned to the Elements Table. Each opponent whose recipe was used to collect a complex recipe receives, receives half the points for the collected recipe.

  • Play a spell from your hand: to take a card from the Table into your hand; to parse the assembled recipe or transform one recipe into another. After casting a spell, you can sometimes play another card, which in turn can also be a spell.

After the deck is over, players continue to play until all players are left without cards. The player with the most points wins.

The game continues until the cards in both decks and in the hands of all players run out. The player who scored the most points by this time won. Sequence of Great Work. Each player has three options for the Sequence of Great Work indicated on his Sequence card. Each Sequence consists of seven stages of recipes and ends with the creation of one of the three versions of the Philosopher's Stone. To collect any Sequence, the player must consistently place in it all the recipes indicated in the corresponding column on the map. This can be recipes collected by any player as well as cards directly from the hand. When a player places a card in a Sequence, it is believed that he played a card and this constitutes a whole phase of the turn. For each new stage in the sequence, the player receives the corresponding points. If a player puts someone else’s recipe, then the player who created the recipe gets half the points. Recipes in a Sequence are considered assembled and may be ingredients for other recipes or may be placed in another Sequence. It is impossible to take the card of the last stage from the sequence.

New spells have been added to the game, including a spell allowing you to skip a stage in a Sequence.
