History
Liquor was coined in 1978. Carolans first entered the UK market in 1979. Named after the famous 17th-century Irish harper Thorl O'Carolan [1] .
In early 2010, William Grant and his sons bought the Carolans brand from the C&C Group for 300 million euros, along with three other brands of liquors. In the autumn of the same year, the brand was acquired by Gruppo Campari [2] . In July 2017, Heaven Hill bought Carolans along with another Irish liquor, Irish Mist , for 165 million euros. [3]
