After the 1st round, none of the candidates scored more than 50% of the vote. Representative of conservatives Ivan Duke Marquez and candidate from the left forces Gustavo Petro entered the 2nd round. In the 2nd round, Ivan Duque received about 54% of the vote and became president of Colombia [3] [4] .

Election System
The President of Colombia is elected by direct vote. In the event that none of the candidates gains a majority of votes in the 1st round, a 2nd round is held with the participation of two candidates with the largest number of votes [2] .
