The 53rd Guards Rifle Division Tartu Red Banner Division was a military unit of the Red Army , which took part in the Great Patriotic War as part of the 1st Shock Army, 34th, 42nd, 68th, 54th and 51st armies.

Awards and honorary titles
- "Guards" - an honorary title awarded by the order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR on December 8, 1942 for showing courage in the battles for the Fatherland, for steadfastness, courage, discipline, organization and heroism of the personnel.
- The Red Banner of the Mongolian People’s Republic was awarded on December 25, 1942 for the distinction in the battles of the North-Western Front.
- Order of the Red Banner - awarded by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 28, 1943 for the exemplary performance of combat missions of the command on the front of the fight against the German invaders during the liquidation of the Demyan grouping of the enemy and the valor and courage shown.
- “Tartu” - the honorary title was given by order of the Supreme Commander No. 0301 of September 7, 1944 to commemorate the victory won and the difference in the battles for the liberation of the city of Tartu .
