When creating the museum, an attempt was made to recreate the environment surrounding Baratashvili, while choosing the style of design of museum halls, the salon of Ekaterina Chavchavadze was used as a model. He dedicated his work to her unrequitedly in love with an outstanding Georgian poet.
History
Opened on October 31, 1982 with the active participation of the classic of Georgian literature Nodar Dumbadze .
It is believed that the historical mansion of the last quarter of the XIX century, in which the museum is open, retained the elements of the house in which Baratashvili lived.
