Raul Romeva lived in Madrid until the age of 9, then his family moved to Caldes de Montbuy , where Romeva lived until the age of 22. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and defended his doctoral dissertation in international relations at the Barcelona Autonomous University . He worked as a teacher at his native university, taught international relations .

Raul Romeva worked as an analyst in the field of military conflicts and post-war reconstruction at the UNESCO Center in Catalonia, the public organization Intermón Oxfam and the School of Peace Culture of the Barcelona Autonomous University, and was also a consultant to the UN .
