The origin of the alias
The pseudonym "Daisy Berkowitz" is formed from the name of the heroine of the American series, , and the name of the serial killer David Berkowitz [1] .
Musician career
David Berkowitz and Brian Hugh Warner founded Marilyn Manson in 1989. Berkowitz was a guitarist for 8 years and participated in the recording of the first three albums of Marilyn Manson. In 1996, during the Antichrist Superstar session, the musician left the band. He was unhappy with the new sound and had long been in conflict with Manson.
After leaving the group, Pateski organized his own group, called Three Ton Gate. The first album of the project was recorded in 1997 and was called "Vanishing Century". Later, the musician switched to participating in the band The Linda Blairs and abandoned the solo project. During 1998, Pateski was a member of the Jack Off Jill group. He later took part in the short-lived gODHEAD and Rednecks on Drugs groups. As part of the latter was recorded on the album " Suntanic " (2001). In 2003, he resumed work on his Three Ton Gate project and recorded the second album, “ Lose Your Mind ” [2] .
In June 2009, Pateski announced his intention to re-release songs recorded as part of Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids and to perform them live.
Litigation
In September 1997, Berkowitz filed a lawsuit against Manson, citing financial losses as a result of a contract break, copyright infringement and non-payment of a concert fee, and asking for compensation of $ 15 million. The court ruled in favor of Manson and rejected the request.
Death
For a long time, the musician struggled with colon cancer , but the exact cause of death has not yet been called [3] .
