Ivan Hisrovich Mitta ( 1915 - October 8, 1942 ) - Chuvash Soviet writer, poet and translator. The brother of the Chuvash poet and translator Vasily Mitta .

Biography

Born in the village of Big Arabosi, Kazan Province (now the village of Pervomayskoye, Batyrevsky District, the Republic of Chuvashia). The son of a peasant Egor Grigorievich Mitta, soloist of the folk choir of the Chuvash ASSR. Published under the pseudonym Ivan Ara. He graduated from the pedagogical college. He wrote poems, short stories and feuilletons in the magazines " Kapkan " and " Sunntal ", published in the Chuvash language. The most famous work is the translation of Jules Verne's novel Children of Captain Grant into the Chuvash language, published in 1941 in small editions [2] .

In 1939, Ivan went to serve in the Red Army . Called Pervomaisky District Military Commissariat [3] . He fought at the front of the Great Patriotic War with the rank of sergeant; According to the last letter sent to his mother in 1942, he was promoted to the rank of senior lieutenant. He was seriously wounded during the Tuapse defensive operation , died from the effects of his wounds on October 8, 1942 in a hospital. He was buried in the village Goyth (Goytos) of the Tuapse district of the Krasnodar Territory [2] .
