Biography
Otto Fock was born on April 29, 1819 on the island of Rügen , which is located in the Baltic Sea in the village of Altenkirchen [1] . First, he took private lessons, then he studied at the local abbey at the Monastery of St. Catherine , after which he diligently studied Protestant theology at the University of Bonn and Berlin [2] .
In 1848, O. Fock took an active part in the Schleswig-Holstein movement [3] .
One of Fock's main works, “ Rügenpommersche Geschichten ” (1861–1872), was written by him on the basis of rich archival material and still, due to the partial loss of the latter, retains great historical value [3] .
Other works by Otto Fock: “ Der Socianismus nach seiner Stellung in der Gesammtentwickelung des christlichen Geistes ” (1847), “ Schleswig-Holsteinische Erinnerungen besonders aus den Jahren 1848-51 ” (1863) [3] [4] .
Otto Fock died on October 24, 1872 in the city of Stralsund.
