Biography
Born on November 14 ( November 26 ), 1886 in the city of Novozybkov, Chernihiv province (now the Bryansk region of Russia ). In 1914 he graduated from the agricultural department of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute . Since 1930 - professor at the Kiev Agricultural Institute .
He died on September 5, 1973 . He was buried in Kiev at the Berkovtsy City Cemetery (plot No. 62). By order of the Department for the Protection of Monuments of History, Culture and the Historical Environment No. 53 of November 4, 1998, the grave is an object of cultural heritage of the Podolsky district in the city of Kiev.
Scientific activity
Created new methods for determining the mechanical, microaggregate and aggregate-dispersed composition of the soil, soil acidity and its alkalinity; developed a classification of soils according to their mechanical and microaggregate composition. He proposed indicators characterizing the ability of various soils to structure.
Rewards
Laureate of the VV Dokuchaev Prize of the 1st degree (for the work “Soil of the Ukrainian SSR”; Kiev-Kharkov, 1951 , together with other authors). He was awarded two orders of Lenin .
