Biography

At the end of the eighth grade at age 17, he went to the front of the Great Patriotic War . He fought near Königsberg , in Poland , participated in the crossing of the Oder and the assault on Berlin . He ended the war in Hungary with the rank of guard sergeant, mortar crew commander. He was awarded military awards: two orders of the Red Star, two medals "For Courage", medals "For the Capture of Prague", "For the Capture of Berlin", "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." He graduated in 1950, was sent to the defense enterprise NII-20 (now VNIIRT ), where early warning radars were created. In 1953 - a senior engineer, in 1955 - a leading engineer. In 1958, he entered the graduate school of NII-20, which he graduated in 1961. He defended his thesis in 1963. In 1964-1965 - head of the laboratory 441. In 1965-1975 - head of the department. In 1975-1986, the head of the department of NIO-4. In 1986 he returned to laboratory 441, which he headed until 2006. In 2006–2010, he was the head of the graduate school at VNIIRT, and from 2010 until his death he worked as a teacher at the graduate school of VNIIRT.

The main contribution is the development of radar systems for several generations of early warning radars. Starting with the development and testing of such radars as Altai and Top, he continued to participate in the creation as deputy chief designer of entire families of radar systems Kasta and Gamma. The author of many articles, inventions and patents.

Over the past 10 years, he has written and published several textbooks, including the monograph "Digital beamforming in phased antenna arrays."

For achievements in the development of defense technology, Professor L. N. Grigoriev was awarded the honorary title "Honored Designer of the RSFSR". For his contribution to the training of engineering personnel in 1982 he was awarded the Order of Honor. He was awarded the medal "Veteran of Labor" and the sign "Honorary Radio Operator of the USSR."
