The title of Baronet Fitzgerald of Clenlish in Limerick County was created on the list of baronets of Ireland on February 8, 1644 for Edmund Fitzgerald (died about 1665). He was succeeded by John Fitzgerald, 2nd Baronet (d. 1708), who was stripped of the title of Baronet in 1691 .
The title of Baronet Fitzgerald of Newmarket-on-Fergus or Carrigoran in County Clare was created in the list of baronets of the United Kingdom on January 5, 1822 for Augustine Fitzgerald. The title was interrupted after the death of the 5th baronet in 1908 .
The title of Baronet Fitzgerald from Valentine in Kerry was created on the list of baronets of the United Kingdom on July 8, 1880 for Sir Peter George Fitzgerald, 19th Knight of Kerry (1808-1880). This title of baronet exists at the present time.
The title of Baronet Fitzgerald from Geraldine Place in St. Finn Barr in County Cork was created in the list of baronets of the United Kingdom on October 10, 1903 for Edward Fitzgerald, Lord Mayor of Cork in 1901, 1902 and 1903. The alleged 3rd Baronet did not use his title and never proved his succession, and, therefore, was never on the official list of baronets. His younger brother, the alleged 4th Baronet (who was a Roman Catholic priest) also did not use the title he received, nor was he able to successfully prove his succession and the poem was not included in the official list of baronets. Since 1957, the title of Baronet is considered to be at rest.
