Biography
In 1999 he graduated from the University of Pavia , where he studied political science in the territorial and economic aspect. Since 1994 he is an activist of the North League . In 1993, he headed one of the quarterly committees of Pavia, later joined the communal council and was in it until 2009, when he was elected deputy mayor and was responsible for cultural policy in the city administration. From 1999 to 2005 - the secretary of the city organization of the League, later joined the city government of the party [1] .
In 2013, he was elected to the Italian Senate from Lombardy, since July 2014 - the head of the party faction. After the 2018 election, he remained in his former position [2] .
On June 1, 2018, he received the portfolio of the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forest Policy in the Government of Conte [3] .
