Content
AppearanceSmall-bodied birds with short beaks and long tails . Body length 10-12 cm. The color of the plumage is a combination of brown and black and white flowers. Males and females are colored the same, young ones are more dull.
DistributionThey live throughout South Asia . The area of ββdistribution of certain species covers New Guinea , Sri Lanka , India , Myanmar , Thailand , Sumatra , Malaysia , Borneo , Timor , Java , Lombok and also southeast China .
LifestyleInhabit open spaces. They feed mainly on seeds.
ReproductionThe nest is a large domed grass structure. In clutch 4-10 white eggs .
ContentsAll types of munias easily get used to captivity and live in these conditions for a long time up to 18 years or more.
