Biography
Hans Kofler was born on January 30, 1896 in Trento ; He graduated from the Humanitarian State Gymnasium, and then entered the University of Innsbruck , where he studied classical and Roman philology. After defending his Ph.D. thesis in 1919, he became a teacher of Latin , Greek and Italian. Then, until 1939, Kofler was a teacher in a girls' gymnasium in Innsbruck.
At the same time, he studied law and in 1926 became a candidate of legal sciences; In the 1929/1930 academic year he studied Semitic philology in Leipzig and in 1931 became the Deutsche Morgenländische Gesellschaft. In 1932, Kofler defended his doctoral dissertation in Oriental Philology and Islamic Studies at the University of Innsbruck - he became a privat-docent . In 1939, he took the position of an extraordinary professor of Arab and Islamic studies at the University of Vienna. In 1940 he joined the NSDAP : party ticket number 7870419. He died in 1947.
