Biography
David Hess was born on September 19, 1936 in New York , USA [1] , into a Jewish family [2] .
In 1956, under the pseudonym David Hill, along with Otis Blackwell recorded the song “ All Shook Up ” [1] . He co-wrote songs for Elvis Presley (“I Got Stung” and “Make Me Know You're Mine”) and Pat Boone (“Speedy Gonzalez”) [2] . In 1972, he played the role of the ruthless criminal Circle of Stillo in Wes Craven’s horror film “ The Last House on the Left, ” and also recorded a soundtrack for him [3] . Subsequently, in 1980, he played a similar role in the thriller Ruggiero Deodato " House on the edge of the park ." Filming partner, actor Giovanni Lombardo Radice spoke positively of Hess, calling him “an uncontrollable volcano of ideas, stories and songs” [4] .
Death
Hess died of myocardial infarction on October 7, 2011 in Tiburon, California , at the age of 75 years [2] .
