Content
History
In the XVIII century, the settlement of the village Bogoroditskoye, Almenevo identity (now the village of Almenevo Vurnarsky district) [2] .
In 1918, the 1st stage school was opened. In 1930, the Kalinin collective farm was formed together with the village of Yermoshkino [2] .
In 1976, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the village of Pogankino was renamed Pukankasy [3] .

Geography
The distance to Cheboksary is 64 km, to the regional center 26 km, to the railway station 26 km. It is located on the right bank of the Abasirma River, off the Republican Highway [2] 97K-001 Cheboksary - Surskoye [4] .

Residents - Chuvash, until 1866 state peasants ; engaged in agriculture , livestock , carpentry, tailoring, production of knitwear, weaving bast shoes [2] .
By 1907, in the village of Pogankina, Asakasinsky volost, Yadrinsky district, there were 391 people, a Chuvash, of “both sexes” [6] .
According to the 2002 All-Russian Population Census, the numerically prevailing nationality of the village is the Chuvashs (100%) [7] .
