Genrik Ayrikovich Abrahamyan ( Armenian Հենրիկ Աբրահամյան , October 4, 1939 , Sarukhan village, Kamo district, Armenian SSR - October 27, 1999 , Yerevan ) - Armenian public, political and statesman. He died as a result of a terrorist act .

  • 1961 - graduated from the H. Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical Institute . Historian, philologist. Journalist. Candidate of Historical Sciences.
  • Since 1961 - worked in the editorial office of the Avangard newspaper as a correspondent, deputy chief editor.
  • Since 1982 - worked in the propaganda department of the central committee of Armenia .
  • Since 1986 - Deputy Chief Editor of the newspaper "Soviet Armenia".
  • 1990 - 1999 - was the chief editor of “Armenia” newspaper.
  • May 30, 1999 - elected to parliament. Member of the Commission on Foreign Relations. Member of the political council of the NPA.
  • By presidential decree of December 27, 1999, he was posthumously awarded the Movses Khorenatsi Medal for significant services to his homeland.
