Marulis, Konstantin

Constantine James Maroulis ( born Constantine James Maroulis ; born September 17, 1975 , Brooklyn , New York , USA ) is an American actor and rock singer, finalist of the American Idol music television show of the 2005 season [2] .

Biography

Born in the Greek Orthodox family of James Constantine and Constance P. Marulis (b. 1938). His ancestors immigrated to the USA in the 1920s from Greece. He speaks Greek [3] . He has a brother, (born 1964), a music producer, and a sister, Anastasia P. Marulis (born 1968), the principal of the school [4] . The Marulis family is actively involved in the activities of the American-Greek Progressive Educational Union (AHEPA) and the Greek Orthodox Church [5] .

When Konstantin was five years old, his family moved to ( New Jersey ), where he grew up. At this time, he showed interest in music, following the example of his older brother Atan. At the age of 11, he began to learn to play the trumpet.

He sang in school garage bands , including Lady Rain and Milkbone .

In 1993, he graduated from one of New York's high schools.

In 2002, he graduated from the with a bachelor of fine arts degree in musicals. In his student years he played in off-Broadway productions and starred in independent films.

After graduating from the conservatory, he trained at the prestigious in Berkshire Hills ( Massachusetts ), one of the founders of which was theater producer, director and teacher Nikos Psaharopoulos .

Personal life

Has a daughter Malena (born 2010) [7] .
