Content
Creation
The initiator of the creation of the newspaper was Jeyhun-bek Gadzhibeyli . The first issue was released on December 4, 1917 ; Hajibayli himself became the editor. The slogan of the newspaper is “ Strength in Ittihad .” Starting from the 59th issue in early 1918 , after Hajibayli’s invitation to the Azerbaijan newspaper, Ittihad became the official body of the Muslims in Russia association.
The newspaper was temporarily not produced as a result of the March events of 1918 .
Activities
In 1918 and until April 1919, the Ittihad newspaper was published by the editorial staff. In April 1919, Jamal Efendi Nakashidze, a member of the Central Committee under the pseudo-name “ Ajaraly Jamal ”, was appointed editor-in-chief. However, the expulsion of Jamal Efendi Nakashidze from the party led to his departure from the editorial board. After that, first unofficially, and since 1920, according to the decision of the Caucasian Ittihad party, Gara Bey Garabeyli was appointed chairman. The first daily issue of Ittihad was published only once or twice a month in 1919-1920 . The main authors of "Ittihad" were Jeyhun bey Hajibeyli, Gara Bey Garabeyli, Akhund Molla Alakbar Tagizade Abbasguluzade Jeyhun Bey, A. J. Jabbarli, Mahammad Hadi , Mirza Bala Mammadzade , Haji Mir Movsum Gasimzadeh, Behlul Behdzhet, Muhammad Agha Shahtahli and others.
The publication of the newspaper was discontinued after the Baku operation ( 1920 ). [one]
