Biography
Eugen Michel was born on February 22, 1873 in Frankenthal (Palatinate); while graduating, he became a member of the Corps Pomerania-Silesia Berlin student fraternity. He wrote and defended his thesis in Berlin - became a candidate of sciences (Doktoringenieur); in 1899, he passed the 2nd state exam for the diploma of a state builder (Regierungsbaumeister) - an analog of an expert in managing public construction.
In 1907, at the Technical University of Hanover, Eugen Michel took up the position of professor of structural analysis (Baustatik) in architecture; since 1921, he also taught room acoustics at the same university. Since 1928, Michelle, together with Friedrich Wilhelm Fischer , headed the Research Center for Church Art and Room Acoustics. In 1927, Michel developed an acoustic project for the Rudolf-Oetker-Halle concert hall in Bielefeld , and in 1929 he designed a large broadcast room in the new broadcast center of the Nordische Rundfunk AG radio station (NORAG) in Hamburg . On May 1, 1933, he became a member of the NSDAP , and on November 11, 1933, he was among the more than 900 scholars and teachers of German universities and universities who signed the " Statement of professors on the support of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist State ." He died in 1946.
