Biography
Alfred Lottermozer graduated from the Gymnasium zum Heiligen Kreuz Gymnasium in 1889; after that he studied in Geneva, Dresden and Leipzig (in particular, with William Ostwald ). In 1896, he received his Ph.D. in Leipzig and became an assistant with Ernst von Meyer (Ernst Sigismund Christian von Meyer, 1847-1916) in Dresden. In 1900, Lottermozer defended his doctoral dissertation in Stuttgart, and in 1903 became an assistant to Fritz Förster .
From 1922 until his retirement in 1937, Alfred Lottermozer was an extraordinary professor of colloid chemistry in Dresden, and from 1923 - director of the Institute of Colloid Chemistry. On November 11, 1933, Alfred Lottermoser was among the more than 900 scholars and professors at German universities and universities who signed the " Statement of Professors Supporting Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist State ." In 1927, Lottermoser received the Laura-R.-Leonard-Preis Prize from the Colloidal Society. In 1939, he was elected a member of Leopoldina .
