Guz, Sergey Anatolyevich

Born October 29, 1955 in Minsk . In the 10th grade, in preparation for admission to the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, he tried to enroll at the Secondary Technical School under the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, but was not accepted due to the weak performance of the work in physics. This failure, according to the memoirs of Sergei Anatolyevich himself, provoked him and helped later successfully pass the entrance examinations at MIPT in physics.

From the second year S. A. Goose himself volunteers at the MFTI ZFTSH, he is engaged in social work in the Komsomol committee of the institute.

One of the first innovations of S. A. Guza is connected with ZFTSH, under conditions when a number of universities, following the example of MIPT, began to open their own correspondence schools to attract gifted schoolchildren to their university and thereby compete with MIPT, S. A. Guz suggested that schoolchildren of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology should accept schoolchildren not from the 9th (as has already become customary), but from the 8th grade and thus outperform the competitors. ^[one]

As a student, he was elected secretary of the Komsomol FUPM committee, then the institute, secretary of the MIPT party committee . ^[2]

In 1978 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, in 1981 - graduate school MIPT. Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Associate Professor of Mathematical Foundations of Management MIPT. In 1984–1998, he held the position of vice-rector of MIPT for educational work. Since 1999 - Head of the Department of Mathematical Foundations for the Management of the FUPM MIPT. ^{[3] [4]}

In 1991, he organized the non-state educational institution “Educational, Scientific and Production Complex (UNPK) of MIPT”, the director of which is still at present. UNPK MIPT plays a large role in training talented young physicists and mathematicians, future MIPT applicants, provides reliable and high-speed Internet MIPT, a number of academic institutions in the north of the capital, as well as many private users of Dolgoprudny.

Since 1998 - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the LIT Group, which occupies one of the first places in the world among manufacturers of ultraviolet equipment (including quartz generators) used in the purification of piped water, underground premises (including the Moscow metro ), wastewater (to reduce the environmental burden on the environment). In 2000, a group of managers and leading employees of the NPO Lit was awarded the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology. ^[five]

Considering it necessary to take part in the improvement of the life of the Bogorodskoye district of Moscow, where the LIT Scientific and Production Association is located, S. A. Guz established and implements a number of programs to support various areas of the life of this area.

March 2, 2008 S. A. Guz was elected to the deputies of the municipal assembly of the Bogorodskoye district. ^[6]

As pro-rector for educational work at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, S. A. Guz proposed to create in 1991 in Dolgoprudny an educational institution for gifted schoolchildren “Fiztech Lyceum” (since 2014 named after P. L. Kapitsa ) and together with O. S. Fedko and a number of other interested teachers of MIPT contributed to his further activities.

In 1995, he participated in the creation of the MIPT Alumni Club, and in 2003 he was elected its chairman ^[7]
