History
Cinema in Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of Yugoslavia dates back to the 1920s [1] , when the production of silent cinema began . Bosnia and Herzegovina is the birthplace of major film festivals in the Balkans and the largest in southeastern Europe [2] [3] , for example, the Sarajevo Film Festival , held in 1995 during the siege of Sarajevo . The festival was attended by people such as Steve Buscemi , Catherine Cartridge , Bono , Nick Nolte , Michael Moore , Alexander Payne and others. Another famous film festival is the Bosnia and Herzegovina Film Festival, held in 2003 in Tribeca , New York .
One of the most famous Bosnian directors is Danis Tanovich , Yasmila Zbanich and Dino Mustafich, who are directors of the films Nobody’s Land , Grbavitsa and Remake, respectively.
