Twenty-four General Takeda Shingen

Twenty-four generals (武田 二十 四 将, Takeda Nijūshi-shō ) are one of the many associations of military commanders of the Sengoku era. They were the most trusted companions of Takeda Shingen [1] . A third of them died at the Battle of Nagasino in 1575 , by the time the Takeda clan was finally defeated in 1582, only three generals remained in its service.

  • Akiyama Nobutomu - died during the second siege of Iwamura Castle .
  • Amari Torayasu - died at the Battle of Uedahar in 1548 [2] .
  • Anayama Nobutada - after the battles of Mikatagahara and Nagashino, he entered into an alliance with Tokugawa Ieyasu , whom Takeda Katsuyori helped to defeat.
  • Baba Nobuharu - participated in the battles of Mikatagahara and Nagashino (commanded the vanguard on the right flank of the Takeda army), and died in the latter [3] .

  • Ichijo Nobutatsu, Shineng 's younger brother, participated in the Battle of Nagashino [5]

In Culture

During the Edo period, twenty-four samurai commanders were a popular topic for bunraku and ukiyo-e .

In the computer game Shogun: Total War there are 25 generals of the Takeda clan [6] .
