A painting in which all twenty-four generals are depicted and signed
Twenty-four generals (武田 二十 四 将, Takeda Nijūshi-shō ) are one of the many associations of military commanders of the Sengoku era. They were the most trusted companions of Takeda Shingen [1] . A third of them died at the Battle of Nagasino in 1575 , by the time the Takeda clan was finally defeated in 1582, only three generals remained in its service.
