Entrance to the temple (gate of Ptolemy III)
Khonsu Temple is an ancient Egyptian temple in Karnak , Luxor . The building is an almost completed example of temples of the New Kingdom , built by Ramses III on the site of the old temple. Ptolemy III Everget built a large gate (preserved to this day) and a wall. The inscriptions in the outer courtyard are made in the time of Herichor . A small hypostyle hall was erected by Nectaneb I. Due to the large number of alterations, inappropriate and inverted trim elements can be seen [1] .
