Sports career
Up to 14 years old he was swimming in the Gomel school of the Volna pool. Since 1986, he worked in the pentathlon section of the Dynamo sports complex (merited coaches of the Republic of Belarus Vitaly Alexandrovich Grudtsyn and Vasily Adamovich Gulevich).
He achieved his first sporting success in 1992, speaking for the Russian national team , winning a silver medal in the team competition at the World Junior Championships.
