Electric Peak is the highest mountain of the Ridge [2] , which itself is part of the Rocky Mountains [4] .
The mountain was first conquered in 1872 by an expedition led by geographer . One of the members of the group was the famous geographer and traveler Ferdinand Gayden [4] .
The mountain got its name - Electric Peak due to the fact that after the thunderstorm sparks began to pour from the fingers and hairs on the head of the expedition pioneer-conquerors who were at the top [4] [2] [5] .
