Biography
Born August 1, 1791 in Livonia . He was the son-in-law of the director of the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum E. A. Engelhardt [2] . Since 1820 he was appointed secretary of the Russian embassy in London .
In 1830, he was promoted to acting state adviser with the appointment of being for special assignments under the vice chancellor of the Department of Foreign Relations. Since 1835, he was a senior adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Empire, and in 1840 he was promoted to secret adviser .
In 1863 he was promoted to full secret adviser with the appointment of a member of the Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Empire . He was awarded all Russian orders up to the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky with diamond signs granted to him in 1856.
