The name of Pueblo Nuevo with the Spanish language can be translated as a new settlement.

The area of ​​the municipality is 60 kmΒ², which is 0.2% of the total state area [3] , and the highest point is located in the settlement of Colony-Progresista and is equal to 1773 meters [1] .
