The Hartron building in Kharkov

The company was founded in Kharkov in 1959 as OKB-692 (subsequently - Design Bureau of Electrical Instrumentation, or PO Box -67, Research and Production Association Elektropribor ) for the development, production and operation of automatic control systems for space-rocket complexes. A special design bureau (OKB-692, PO Box 67) for control systems for intercontinental missiles was then located on Zmievskoye Shosse (now Gagarin Avenue ).

In the USSR, the enterprise was one of the three leading companies that created control systems for rocket and space technology (including R-36M and UR-100N intercontinental ballistic missiles).

Launch vehicles with Hartron’s development management systems ( Cyclone , Energy, etc.) launched into orbit about 1,000 spacecraft of the Cosmos, Tselina, Okean, Koronas , Kupon series and other

The enterprise participated in the creation of control systems for the modules "Quant-1" , "Quant-2" , "Crystal" , "Spectrum" , "Nature" of the space complex "Mir" , automatic docking systems for the functional-cargo block "Zarya" of the international space stations ( ISS ).

After the creation of the National Space Agency of Ukraine , Khartron was transferred to the NSAU [1] .
