Karomatullo Kurbonov was born on November 29, 1961 in Kulyab , the regional center of the Tajik SSR . By the will of fate, the Kurbonov family soon moved to live in the suburban kolkhoz "Moscow" located (13 km from the capital of the Republic ) (part of "Partizani Surkh") of the Koktash district (now Rudakinsky district) of Tajikistan .

His father - Adzhik Kurbonov, being a lover of folk music, instilled in children - his sons Makhmadullo, Karomatullo and Navruz, love for the folk song, playing traditional Tajik musical instruments. Caromatullo, having a good ear for music, sooner became interested in music, began to sing Tajik folk songs to his own accompaniment as early as his childhood - during his school years. After graduating from secondary school No. 3 of the Leninsky District, he entered the university - the Tajik State Institute of Arts ^[2] ; ibid, while studying, together with a like-minded friend and friend - Ismatullo Kholov, he created the instrumental ensemble “Sugdien” ( Russian: “Sogdiana”) .. After graduating from high school, Karomatullo was accepted into the “Gulshan” band, which soon became one of the main soloists.

As a bright, creative person - Karomatullo Kurbonov, left an indelible mark on the Tajik musical culture, being the creator of his own - the author's song school on the Tajik stage . His author's songs - musical arrangements of folk songs decorated state cultural events, traditional folk and family holidays.

Recalling Karomatullo, the Tajik poet Habibullo Nosiri, says that he knew Karomatoullo from childhood: he was a classmate of his older brother, Makhmadullo, lived in the neighborhood. “We had our own literary circle, we communicated a lot, understood each other,” says Nosiri ... “The fact is that I usually write words to a song after I hear a melody. So, for example, songs created by Karomatullo created songs that became popular hits - “Shahri Boroni” (City in the Rain), “Andak-Andak” (Little by Little), “Rax Bikun” (Dance), “Zindagi” "(Life) ... Karomatullo Kurbonov owns seven author audio albums , including 76 songs performed by the singer, including songs in his native Tajik , as well as in other languages, Persian and Hindi ^[5] .

On October 18, 1992, Karomatullo Kurbonov and a group of his musicians, along with a dancer, as well as the owners of the wedding (11 people in total) were brutally executed as traffic policemen in Dahan of the Yavan district by the participants of the so-called “People’s Front of Tajikistan” ... Karomatullo was killed, shot with the words: “We are fighting here, and you sing at weddings?!” ... The investigation of the criminal case No. 8624 about the murder of the singer and his musicians lasted for three years; In the dock there were 8 criminals, five of whom were sentenced to various sentences, some of them were overtaken by death shortly during the civil war , while the leader of the gang that committed the bloody crime was also killed ^{[6] [7]} .

Three children were born in the family of Karomatullo: two sons and a daughter.

Son - Muhammadrafi Karomatullo (born January 14, 1986 , Rudakinsky District , RT ) is a famous Tajik singer. He graduated from the Tajik National Conservatory. Talabkhoji Sattorova. He is married and has four children: two daughters and two sons ^[8] .

Daughter - Noziya Karomatullo (born February 7, 1988 , Dushanbe , RT ) is a popular Tajik singer. She graduated from the Tajik Republican Choreographic College named after Maliki Sobirov (2005), then the Indian Conservatory - the department of vocal and choreography (2010), the Dushanbe Institute of Business and Service (2015) ^[9] .

• In memory of the fellow countryman - a folk singer and musician, a monument was erected in the district center of the Leninsky district of the Republic of Tajikistan .
