Biography
Robert Hölthier was born on October 6, 1901; In 1920-1925 he studied chemistry at the Hanover Technical University . In 1927, also in Hanover, he wrote and defended his dissertation - became a candidate of technical sciences (Dr.-Ing.). From 1926 to 1933 he worked as an assistant in the chemical laboratory at the Mining Academy in Freiberg . In 1930, he defended his doctoral dissertation and, from 1933 to 1934, was an extraordinary professor in Gdansk .
On November 11, 1933, Robert Hölthier was among the more than 900 scholars and professors at German universities and universities who signed the " Declaration of Professors Supporting Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist State ." After that, from 1934 to 1945, he held the position of full professor of inorganic chemistry and director of the institute at the Freiberg Mining Academy; from 1937 to 1939 he was also the rector of this educational institution. Höltje was a member of the NSDAP and implemented the National Socialist policy in a subordinate institution. He committed suicide at the end of World War II , in 1945.
