Drug Incident
In early June 2003, Paul Gray was arrested after an accident in the city of Des Moines . A city police officer stated that two bags of marijuana and cocaine were found in his red Porsche in 2001. The incident happened at about 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Street and Carpenter Avenue.
His car ran into another one when the driver found out everything, Paul tried to say something, but he didn’t succeed, he handed him a check and said that he would pay for everything. The driver of the injured car realized that something was wrong with him and asked his daughter to call the police. Gray had to be sent to the hospital.
When Paul was taken to the hospital, he had increased drowsiness and slurred speech, tests confirmed that he had used drugs.
There were no casualties in the accident. And Paul was sent to prison, from where he was released a week after paying a fine of $ 4,300. In November, a Des Moines court found that Paul was indeed under drugs. The court sentenced him to 1 year probation and ordered him to pay $ 500 to the American Red Cross .
After his arrest, Gray was undergoing treatment with Dr. Joey Tackemain, who, after a short treatment, decided that Paul did not take drugs constantly, but only dabbled in them.
The letter the doctor sent to the court contains facts proving that he no longer uses and will not use drugs.
“Judging by his past and present history, he loves music very much, it seems to me that Mr. Gray will never take drugs again,” Tackemine wrote.
