Bremen robbers

The Bremen Robbers is a Russian internationally-produced comedy-adventure animated film made by Alexei Lukyanchikov and Svyatoslav Ushakov based on the fairy tale The Bremen Town Musicians by the Brothers Grimm . The movie was released in Russia on November 10, 2016. The project was made in co-production of four countries: Russia (Star Media), Hungary, Ukraine (Studio "Poplavok"), Armenia (Banzay Production) [1] .

Content

Story

The cartoon tells about the robber Trubin Hood, who, together with faithful animal friends - the donkey Gretchen, the cat Sigmund, the cock Petruccio and the Baskervilles bulldog - defies the criminal authority of the Kingdom, which has long been without the king, but cunning and greedy Ministers rule him on behalf of the young and naive Princess.

Production

In October 2016, the Ukrainian producer of the Bremen robbers, Vladislav Ryashin, said that the cartoon was at the final stage of production. According to him, the tape was shot based on the fairy tale “The Bremen Town Musicians” by the Brothers Grimm and has nothing to do with the Soviet cartoon of the same name [2] . Ryashin also added that the main characters will be voiced by Potap and Nastya Kamensky [2] , but in November 2016 it was announced that they were voiced by Nadezhda Dorofeeva and Dmitry Todoryuk [3] [4] .

Release

The premiere of the "Bremen robbers" in Russia and the CIS countries (without Ukraine) took place on November 10, 2016. The animated film was released on 950 screens, earning about 21,000,000 rubles for the first weekend. Total box office receipts in Russia and the CIS countries (excluding Ukraine) amounted to 37,000,000 rubles ($ 574 thousand) [5] .

The premiere of the "Bremen robbers" in Ukraine took place on December 1, 2016. The television premiere of the cartoon took place on the "New Channel" on April 1, 2017 [6] .
