Wiprecht, Paul

Paul Wiprecht ( him. Paul Wieprecht ; October 28, 1839 , Berlin - December 7, 1894 , Schöneberg , now in Berlin ) - German oboist. Wilhelm Wiprecht 's nephew.

He studied with his father, Friedrich Wiprecht (1804-1880), from 1824 the oboist in the orchestra of the Grenadier Regiment of the Emperor Franz, from 1829 the Kammuzykant as part of the court chapel. In the 1860s took the place of the oboist at the Royal Opera . In 1876 and 1888 He was a member of the Bayreuth festival orchestra. From 1872 he taught at the Berlin School of Instrumental Music , from 1892 he was a professor.

Published in his translation an updated and revised edition of the oboe playing textbook by Joseph Francois Garnier (1877). In 1875-1881 he worked with wind instrument manufacturer Moritz on constructive improvements in his instrument. If necessary, he also played the oboe d'amour (in particular, at the ceremonial concert on September 28, 1884 on the occasion of the opening of the monument to Johann Sebastian Bach in Eisenach ) [1] .
