Manifest is an American television series on NBC . In Russia, it is officially broadcast on the Kinopoisk website [1] . The first season premiered on September 24, 2018.

Initially, the first season was to consist of 13 episodes, but on October 18, 2018, it became known that NBC ordered three additional episodes, thereby increasing their total number to 16 [2] . On April 15, 2019, NBC extended the series for the second season [3] .

Story

Montego Air flight 828, traveling from Jamaica to New York , falls into the turbulence zone. When the plane lands after the flight, the crew and passengers come out and find out from the NSA agents who met them that over the past few hours the world has aged five and a half years, and friends, colleagues and families, who at first did not lose hope of seeing their relatives alive, changed and started to live on. Later, some of the returning passengers begin to see visions and hallucinations.

Nephew of Michaela Cal, a patient with leukemia (also flying on flight 828), begins treatment. Passengers and crew of flight 828 hear an inner voice and come to the runway where the plane is. They become witnesses of how an airplane explodes.

Ben helps his fellow traveler Radd contact his son Adio, who is in the Rykers Prison on suspicion of robbing a jewelry store. Ben's new abilities allow him to discover that the real culprit is the son of the store owner, and Adio is released from prison. Meanwhile, Michaela escapes Lourdes, Jared’s wife and his ex-best friend. After seeing the many posts that Lourdes has left for her on social networks for years of absence, Michaela lies that she was going to refuse Jared’s marriage proposal before the plane went missing. Ben learns from Olive that there is another man in Grace’s life. Kelly, one of passengers on Flight 828, gives an interview on television, after which she is killed.

Suspecting that Kelly’s murder may be related to her appearance on TV, Michaela and Ben visit the crime scene and then talk with husband Kelly Patrick and housekeeper Christine. The NSA takes control of the murder investigation, and NSA chief Robert Vance is trying to get Jared to inform him of Mikael’s plans. Cal is upset to discover that his former best friend Kevin is dating Olive. Michaela is still worried about the death of her friend Ivy, who died in a car accident when Michaela was driving. Michaela visits parents of Ivy, Glen and Beverly, and discovers that Beverly is dementia, and Glen no longer blames Michaela for the death of her daughter. Michaela manages to overcome her fear of driving a car to find Beverly, who set off to roam the streets. Michaela rescues an old woman from a collision with a car driven by Christine. In the front seat of the car, she sees a necklace stolen from Kelly. The housekeeper admits that she killed Kelly out of jealousy for Patrick. Saanwy, in Cal’s blood tests, and then on his own, finds markers that are usually produced in ischemic stroke . NSA takes Kelly's body.

Flashbacks show how the flight attendant Bethany smuggled Thomas, a gay man from Jamaica, and her cousin's boyfriend Leo into the cargo hold. NSA finds Thomas fingerprints. Saanvi discovers that the results of a scan of her brain match those of a patient admitted to the psychiatry department with hallucinations. He turns out to be Thomas. Jared and Mikaela are sent on a mission related to the secret operation of the ATO , and Mikaela disrupts this operation. Jared takes responsibility. Grace finds out that the life insurance company intends to take back the half million dollars that she paid after Ben's disappearance and alleged death. Ben meets former boyfriend Grace Danny after Olive was detained for trying to steal lipstick from a cosmetics store. Thomas escapes from the hospital, and the NSA begins his search. Bethany with the help of Michaela and Saanvi finds Thomas; she reports that Leo disappeared two years after the disappearance of their plane, so no one met Thomas at the appointed place. Michaela and Saanvi are hiding Thomas in a safe place in a former mall owned by Kelly. Robert Vance adds a photograph of Thomas to his list of suspects, replacing them with Kelly.

The flashbacks show how the lives of Grace, Olive, Jared, Lourdes and Steve went well after the loss of flight 828. Ben and Cal go to the Coney Island amusement park, and then return home by metro. Cal suddenly gets out of the car and leads Ben to Thomas, before saying the phrase "everything is connected," which previously sounded in Ben's head. NSA agents arrest Bethany, and Robert Vance interrogates her about the passenger whose fingerprints were found in the cargo compartment. Jared takes the blame for the failure of the ATO operation, as a punishment, Vance takes off his salary for 10 days. After consulting with his father, Michaela goes to talk to Jared at the bar. Ben and Kal learn from Georgia, Bethany's wife, about her arrest. Ben tells Michaela that Cal does not hear voices like them, but he can foresee events, so Ben decides to devote himself to finding a clue. In the final scene, flashbacks show how Kal looks into the window of the plane when the rest of passengers on flight 828 are sleeping, and he sees a bright glow outside, after which he says: “Everything is connected.”
6"Missing from Radar"

Cal fever suddenly begins and he begins to call for help in the Bulgarian language . Ben recalls a Bulgarian named Marko Valeriyev, who was also on flight 828. Ben and Mikaela are watching video footage taken that night when the plane landed, and they see that five buses were taken from the airport, but only four arrived at their destination. The fifth bus carried 11 passengers who were foreigners or had no relatives. Michaela and Jared find a farm to experiment with these passengers, but armed guards drive them away. Further investigation reveals that the farm is owned by Unified Dynamic Systems (UDS), a multi-industry corporation that runs government orders. It was UDS that provided the government with those same five buses. Ben comes to Vance and threatens to tell the press that the NSA keeps missing passengers on flight 828 on the farm. Vance receives a dossier for 11 passengers and, together with his deputy, arrives at the farm, where he discovers empty rooms. After stopping the experiments on Marco Calu, it gets better.
7"Mess"

The flashbacks show how Fiona Clark on an airplane helps Kelly Taylor put hand luggage on the upper luggage rack. Cal, who is feeling better, is being discharged from the hospital, but the boy feels that something bad will happen to him and Marco. Ben gets a job as a junior accountant for JP Williamson, a UDS affiliate, where he finds information about Fiona. Michaela visits Glen and Beverly, whose dementia is progressing, and she does not remember that her daughter Ivy died in a car accident. Michaela and Jared arrive on call at the hairdresser, where a young man named Carlos reports that his uncle Enrique is shot and killed by a robber, but at the police station he refuses to identify the suspect who matches the verbal description. Olive and Danny attend rock climbing classes, preparing to climb the mountain in Acadia National Park . Ben and Saanvi get to know Fiona and learn from her about the Singularity project. Ben manages to download data about this project to a USB flash drive, but Vance takes it. After Carlos agrees to cooperate with the police, Michaela and Jared find the killer of his uncle, who was going to rob the old man. Michaela comes to the hairdresser to tell Carlos about the capture of the criminal, and sees on the mirror photographs of Ivy in the hairdresser. Carlos says that he had heart failure and Ivy became a heart donor. Cal tells Ben that Vance is a good person. Vance tells Powell that his people did not find anything on Ben. Michaela notices on the refrigerator door a drawing of Cal, which shows Carlos with Evie's heart.

Ben and Grace allow Cal to return to school, provided that Olive will look after him. Michaela and Jared go on a call and witness how Harvey, another passenger on Flight 828, who considers himself the “Angel of Death,” commits suicide by jumping from the roof of a multi-story building. At school, Cal meets again with his old friends, who are now five and a half years older than him. Vance contacts Ben and they agree to work together. Fiona visits the Singularity project office and installs a bug in Lawrence Belson's office. While shopping for food, Grace meets Lourdes and notices a pregnancy test in her basket. Michaela and Jared discover that the two people with whom Harvey spoke were killed in an accident. Michaela receives a new challenge to the suicide barmaid, who also knew Harvey. Meanwhile, Vance narrows his search and uses NSA resources to track all phones in three places. Ben uses a pass stolen from his boss to get into the UDS archive and find the chemical warehouse building where missing passengers might be. The Singularity project staff resumes experimenting with Marco, and Cal feels it.

During the interrogation of passengers on Flight 828, Vance discovers that several woman arrest warrants have been issued against a woman named Otumn Cox. At present, Otumn comes home to Ben and says that she became a participant in the experiments, but she managed to escape, and her intuition led her to Ben. Saanvi, Fiona and Ben hide Otumn in a shelter and tell Vance about the Singularity project. Lawrence, meanwhile, is showing live experiments with mirror neurons to his superiors. For Marco, they significantly increase the power of electrical voltage, which causes a painful reaction in other passengers. Grace learns that Ben was fired from his job. Mikaela, Jared, Vance, Ben and Fiona, accompanied by a special forces detachment, arrive at the chemical warehouse, where 11 missing passengers are supposed to be held but not found. Cal suddenly appears and shows the secret door. The shootout begins; passengers are taken outside, and Fiona intends to take them to a safe place. Oxygen tanks explode in the warehouse where Vance, Jared and Lawrence remain. Michaela visits Jared at the hospital. She is informed that Vance did not survive. Grace and Ben conclude that their marriage has exhausted itself, and Ben decides to leave the family. Otumn uses a hidden mobile phone to contact UDS and ask what her next steps are.

At Vance’s funeral, Ben Aaron Glover, a journalist who runs the 828 Conspiracy podcast , wants to interview him. Fiona and Saanvi notice how all passengers rescued from the laboratory, who are in a catatonic state , simultaneously experience the same reaction. Touching one of the passengers, Paul Santino, Michaela suddenly sees a blizzard and hears the call "find her." A man regains consciousness, but as it turns out, he suffers from a loss of memory . Michaela and Jared find Helen, Paul’s wife, who claims that her husband regularly beat her. Otumn is unhappy with pressure from the authorities and throws the phone away. Olive invites Danny to dinner to cheer Grace, but she is not happy with the guest. Ben persuades subordinate Vance Tim Powell to help find information about the "Major", a mysterious woman who is responsible for experiments with passengers and looking for a certain "Holy Grail." Jared admits to Michaela that she still loves her and they have sex. Powell, who tracked the whereabouts of a helicopter with Major on board, is being taken away by unknown persons. In the cafe, Otumn is approached by a man who claims that Major wants to talk to her. Cal sees a blizzard through which a person walks with a portrait of Michaela, and hears the call "find her."

23 августа 2017 года NBC объявил о заказе сценария пилотного эпизода сериала «Манифест».
