History and Activities

Tourist bus Tourtrans Voyage in Luxembourg , 2017

The company was established in 1994 by Dmitry Fomintsev, who in 2018 is its permanent general director. The emphasis was placed on cognitive, enlightened tourism, later on the resort component was added to it. The first tourist program in 1994 was a bus tour with a visit to the two capitals "Warsaw - Paris". Later, other European cities and capitals (Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg) began to be strung on this route, and then the network of bus routes spread to Europe, including Great Britain, Scandinavia, the Norwegian fjords, the Baltic States and Belarus. Bus tours began to complement the rest on the sea in Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, on the lakes of Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic and Hungary. In 2006, in order to save time and “jump” to Europe, air tours and monotours appeared [2] .

The company employs more than 170 employees, among which about a third is engaged in visa issues [5] , as well as about 190 full-time and engaged guides.

Analyzing the development trends of Russian outbound tourism, the general director Fomintsev spoke in the press for the creation of alliances of tour operators and for "combining agent and client bases, as well as marketing strategies to strengthen positions in the tourism market." The company does not attract borrowed funds [6] [2] .

From 1994 to 2013, the company sent more than 500 thousand people on vacation, about 1,500 groups annually. In 2013, the geography of company trips covered 238 cities and 34 countries [2] .

In the 2014–2015 season, the company became the laureate of the Travel.ru Star independent award in the nomination: “The best travel company by type of vacation: bus tours”, in all, it won this award 12 times [7] .

Both positive and negative reviews about the activities of Turtrans-Voyage were published on the network. A characteristic marketing technique of the company is the attractively declared low cost of the tour (attracting a mass client) and the subsequent large surcharges for the excursion program, transfers, arrivals, organized meals, tastings, etc., in foreign currency in the course of the tour itself — cumulative costs, often many times higher than the initial price of the tour [8] [9] [10] .
