Biography
Bernhard Frankel was born on November 17, 1836 in the city of Elberfeld [2] into the family of surgeon .
He was educated first in high school and then at the universities of Würzburg and Berlin . May 23, 1860 in the metropolitan University Frenkel received his doctoral degree.
In 1884 he was appointed professor at the University of Berlin, and in 1887 director of the university clinic in Berlin for throat and nasal diseases [3] .
Among the most famous works of B. Frenkel were, in particular, the following works: “Allgemeine Diagnostik und Therapie der Krankheiten der Nase” (in Tsimsen’s Handbuch der speziellen Pathologie und Therapie, Vol. IV, Leipzig, 1879); Skrophulose und Tuberkulose (in Handbuch der Kinderkrankheiten of Gergardt, Vol. III, Tubingen, 1878); Der Kehlkopfkrebs (Leipzig, 1889). He also published “Gefrierdurchschnitte zur Anatomie der Nasenhöhle” (Berlin, 1890–91) [3] .
In addition, for many years, he edited Archiv für Laryngologie and Zeitschrift für Tuberkulose [4] .
Bernhard Frankel died on November 11, 1911 in the city of Berlin .
