Shё Ko (1787-1834) - the seventeenth van of the Ryukyu state of the second Shё dynasty (1804-1828). The fourth son of Crown Prince Shё Tetsu (1759–1788), the grandson of Shё Boku .
Foreign policy.
Sho Ko maintained diplomatic relations with the Qing Empire and the Tokugawa Shogunate (Japan) . In 1806, the embassy of the kingdom of Ryukyu was sent to Edo.
The chief envoy, Prince Yomitanyama Choi, thanked the Shogun Tokugawa Ienari . In 1808, the Chinese envoys Kun Qi and Fei Xijiang arrived in the kingdom of Ryukyu . The envoys handed the label of Emperor Jiaqing on the recognition of Sho Ko as king.
