Season Review
The tournament calendar consisted of 10 races. The first race of the season was the Tour of Flanders instead of Milan - San Remo , which took place the day after Paris - Brussels . A similar holding of two races in two days will be in subsequent seasons.
The tournament regulations have changed in terms of points awarded. Now points were awarded to the first 15 racers in each race instead of 25, and the maximum number of points for a victory decreased from 30 to 20 (points were doubled on grand tours). To be classified in the final ranking, the rider had to take part in at least one race held in each of the organizing countries (Belgium, Italy and France), participation in Switzerland was not mandatory. The national rating was calculated as the sum of the five best riders from the country at each of the races.

The winner of the individual rating was the Swiss Ferdinand Kübler . The second place was taken by Italian Fiorenzo Magni , the third one more Swiss - Hugo Coblet .
For the third year in a row Italy ranked first among countries.
