Season Overview
The tournament calendar has changed. It was replenished with a multi-day event - it became the Tour of Switzerland , which was located between or after both grand tours. Thus, the tournament began to consist of 10 races - three in Belgium, Italy and France, and one in Switzerland. The first victory in the history of the tournament was won by a representative of Switzerland. He became Gottfried Vilenmann on the Tour of Switzerland.
The tournament regulations remained the same. It provided for the accrual of points to the first 25 riders in each race (points were doubled on grand tours). To be classified in the final ranking, the rider had to take part in at least one race held in each of the organizing countries (Belgium, Italy and France), participation in Switzerland was not mandatory. The national rating was calculated as the sum of the top five racers from the country at each race.

Notes
- ↑ There were two winners in the Paris-Roubaix race: Andre Mahe - the first to cross the finish line and Cerse Mines - won the sprint from the peloton. However, Coppy filed a protest because Mahe did not follow the correct route. Mahe was disqualified, but a few days later he was again declared the winner of the French Cycling Federation. After months of uncertainty in November, the UCI finally declared both riders winners of the race.
