Biography
Nikolay Iosifovich Fedosov was born on December 20, 1948 in the city of Cheremkhovo, Irkutsk Region, into a teacher's family. In 1966 he graduated from high school in the city of Cheremkhovo and entered the electro-physical faculty of the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (TPI, now Tomsk Polytechnic University, TPU). In 1971 he graduated from the institute with a degree in Physical Electronics. He continued his studies in graduate school. In 1973-1976 he studied at the graduate school of the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Physics of the Atomic Nucleus and Cosmic Rays.
After graduating, Nikolai Iosifovich Fedosov from 1971 to 1973 worked as an engineer at the Department of Theoretical and Experimental Physics at the TPI, in 1976-1978 he held the position of assistant professor at the Institute of Higher Mathematics. Later on, in 1978, he worked in department No. 1 of TPI (Seversky Technological Institute of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI ). Since 1978, he worked at the Tomsk Institute at the department of higher mathematics from assistant to professor. Since 1987 he has been working as a head of the department of higher mathematics.
In 1978 he defended his thesis on the topic: "Some issues of the classical and quantum theory of radiation." In 1991, in Tomsk State University, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: "The classical and quantum theory of radiation processes in external electromagnetic fields" [1] . Received the degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and the title of professor (1995). He considers his teacher to be the physic-mathematical sciences octor, professor, head of the department of theoretical and experimental physics at the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, Vladislav Gavriilovich Bagrov .
Research interests: history of science, radiation of an electron moving along a circular arc at arbitrary angles of deviation, the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with charged particles. At one time, Nikolai Iosifovich theoretically predicted the radiation self-polarization of electrons moving in an electromagnetic field.
Simultaneously with the scientific work, Nikolai Iosifovich Fedosov conducts pedagogical activities at the Tomsk Polytechnic University and at the Seversk Institute of Technology. He lectures: “Special Chapters of Higher Mathematics”, “Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics”, “History of Natural Science”, etc.
