Biography

After graduating with honors in 1969 from the Philological Faculty of the Belarusian State University, she became a researcher at the State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk. After moving to Moscow, she joined the State Library of the USSR named after IN AND. Lenin, where at first she headed the group for the preparation of bibliographic indexes, then the sector of literature in the languages ​​of the peoples of the USSR. A.A. Kolganova was the head and main compiler of the 8-volume publication "Index of titles of works of fiction, 1801-1975." The subject of many years of scientific interests A.A. Kolganova began research at the intersection of literary criticism and book science: problems of artistic interpretation, borrowing plots and images, title of works of art. In 1981 she defended her thesis on the problem of the novel genre of the beginning of the XX century. On her initiative, during the period of perestroika, the first library association, the National Book Club, was created at the GBL (State Library named after V.I. Lenin) in Moscow.

In 1991 A.A. Kolganova was invited to work at the State Central Theater Library (as the RSLI was then called) as the first deputy director of the library. Since 2001, he has been the Director of the Russian State Library for Contemporary Art. During this time A.A. Kolganova realized the main task: the transformation of the departmental theater library into a modern public federal library. Thanks to the efforts of A.A. Kolganova began to informatize the library, generate an electronic catalog and specialized art databases, and convert a unique subject catalog into a digital format. A fundamental restructuring of the library took place: the transition of the main library processes to the modern technical level, careful reconstruction, technical equipment of the premises located in the historic building, which is occupied by the Russian State Library for Contemporary Art. A.A. Kolganova organized publishing, created a system of methodological seminars, educational exhibitions and lectures for regional, university, museum and other libraries, expositions from the collections of the Russian State Library for Contemporary Art for demonstration in the country and abroad. A.A. Kolganova is the author of the original project “The Museum of the Reader”, the annual expositions of which show the role of the Russian State Library for the Reproduction of Cultural Property, the contribution of the library to the creation of a large number of film, theater, and visual projects.

A.A. Kolganova is the initiator and main organizer of regular scientific readings, “The Theater Book between the Past and the Future,” dedicated to the theater book as a source on the history of the theater, which have been held at the Russian State Library for Arts since 1995, and also since 1995, scientific conferences “The National Theater in the Context of Multinational Culture "(Mikhoels readings). Permanent chief compiler and editor of collections of reports and messages published on the basis of these scientific events, opening unknown pages of the history of culture. A.A. Kolganova is the author of about 300 publications, including three books, the compiler of scientific collections and the collection Menorah. Jewish motives in Russian poetry ”and B.
