" VG5000μ " is a computer , created by Philips in 1984. It was manufactured in Le Mans at the Radiotechnique (RTS) facility . [1] Distributed under the brands Philips, Radiola and Schneider . [1] Approximately 300,000–400,000 copies were produced, and production was completed in 1986. [2]

Not being MSX-compatible , it had some hardware compatible with VG8000 (for example, connectors for power supply and cassette recorder), as well as the ability to support Philips VU 0031 cartridges . [3]
