Biography

Galina Arkadyevna Shlyapina was born on December 20, 1951 in Izhevsk ( Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic ).

In 1970 she graduated from the Perm State Choreographic School (class of G.K. Kuznetsova ). In 1987 she graduated from the choreography department of the GITIS choreography department with a degree in choreography (director E. N. Zhemchuzhina).

In 1970-1981 she was a soloist of the Perm Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. P.I. Tchaikovsky . She was the first performer of the parties: Lisa (Three Cards, 1973), Clarice (The Servant of Two Masters, 1976), Eurydice (Orpheus and Eurydice, 1977), Cinderella (1980).

In 1981-1990 she performed in the State Concert Ensemble of the USSR “Moscow Classical Ballet” under the direction of N. D. Kasatkina and V. Yu. Vasilev . The first performer of the parties: the fairy Rosabelverde (The Magic Camisole, 1982), Natalia Nikolaevna (Pushkin. Thinking About the Poet, 1986), Isolda (The Faces of Love, 1987). She became the first Russian performer of the choreographic miniature “Webern, Opus No. 5” (choreographer M. Bezhar).

In 1990-1994 she worked in the USA. In 1995-1996 she performed in the troupe of the Imperial Russian Ballet in Moscow. Since 1997 - tutor-tutor in the troupe of the Chamber Ballet "Moscow".

Since 2009, he has been a teacher-tutor at the Kremlin Ballet Theater. The teacher-tutor of the theater " Russian Ballet " V. Gordeeva .

Among her students: Irina Ablitsova, Veronika Varnovskaya, Valeria Pobedinskaya, Anastasia Teterina, Olesya Dmitrakova.

Awards and Prizes

  • Honored Artist of the RSFSR (11/04/1977).
  • People's Artist of the RSFSR (06/18/1981).
  • State Prize of the RSFSR named after M. I. Glinka for the ballet performances “Romeo and Juliet” by S. S. Prokofiev , “The Servant of Two Masters” M. I. Chulaki in the Perm A. Tchaikovsky ATOB (1977).
  • Laureate of the All-Union Ballet Competition (1980, Moscow, 1st prize).
  • The title “Outstanding figure of Perm ballet of the twentieth century” in the nomination “Dancer” (2000, awarded by the Arabesque Perm Society based on the results of a survey and questionnaire among Perm residents).
