Biography
After graduating from high school, he moved to Leningrad and in 1947 entered the law faculty of Leningrad State University , which he graduated in 1952. The administration left a certified specialist at home, and he worked there until 1970, at the same time from 1960 to 1966 he held the post of director of the Maxim Gorky Scientific Library. In 1970, he was elected director of the GPB , he held this position until 1985, after which he remained there and was elected to the position of deputy director for scientific work, he held this position until 1993. In 1994, he was appointed to the position of lead researcher in the same place and worked until his death. Under his supervision, students prepared a number of candidate and over 10 doctoral dissertations.
Scientific work
The main scientific works are devoted to the problems of bibliography, library science, the history of higher education in the RSFSR and book science. The author of over 150 scientific papers.
- As director of the GPB , he organized joint scientific research between the GPB and the state libraries of the GDR , NRB , Poland , Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia.
