Born in 1812 in a peasant family in the village of Nizhneluzhitskoy Kozle. He graduated from high school in Cottbus , then studied Lutheran theology in Berlin. From 1846 to 1852 - pastor in the village of Madlov. In 1848, with the financial support of German conservative landowners, he published the first ever newspaper in the Lower Belize language, Bramborski Serbski Casnik . Until 1852 he was its first editor. His successor was Kito Punk. In the same year he was appointed pastor in the village of Bukow in Serboluzhitsky near Spremberg. In 1861 he resigned.
He died in 1864 in the prison of the city of Luckau.
