Wentworth FitzGerald ( English Wentworth FitzGerald, 17th Earl of Kildare ; 1634 - March 5, 1664 ) - Irish aristocrat and politician , 17th Earl Kildare and 3rd Baron Offaly (1660-1664), peer of Ireland. From 1634 to 1660 he bore the title of courtesy - Lord Offaly .

Biography
The second son of George Fitzgerald, 16th Earl of Kildare (1612–1660), and Lady Joan Boyle (1611–1657), daughter of Richard Boyle, 1st Earl of Cork .
On May 29, 1660, after the death of his father, Wentworth Fitzgerald became the 17th Earl of Kildare and the 3rd Baron of Offaly, inheriting the castles of the estate of the Earls of Kildare in Ireland [1] .
Earl Kildare served as governor of Offaly County, Kildare County and Liish County [2] . He did not own any property in Nottinghamshire , but in April 1660 he was elected a member of the House of Commons of England from East Retford . In 1661, Wentworth Fitzgerald took his seat in the Irish House of Lords and was sworn into the Privy Council of Ireland . He took an active part in the work of the English Parliament and in the work of the Privy Council of Ireland [1] .
Wentworth Fitzgerald, 17th Earl of Kildare, passed away in March 1664 . He was succeeded by his only son, John Fitzgerald, who became the 18th Earl of Kildare.
Family
The 17th Earl of Kildare married around 1655 to Lady Elizabeth Halls [2] , the second daughter of John Halls, 2nd Earl of Clare (1595–1666), and his wife, the Honorable Elizabeth de Ver (1608–1683). The spouses had two children:
- John Fitzgerald, 18th Earl of Kildare (1661 - November 9, 1707) [2]
- Anne Fitzgerald [2] , 1st husband — Hugh Boscaven of Tregotnan , 2nd husband — Hon. Francis Robartes (1650–1718), fourth son of 1st Earl Radnor . From her second marriage, she had one son: John Robartes, 4th Earl of Radnor. Both her husbands belonged to the leading Cornwall family [3] .
