Biography

At the end of the college, he came to the Moscow Electrozavod, where there was a football section. At this time, the section was instructed from the sports committee to send 1 person to a seminar on the training of referees to serve matches of the Moscow championship. Latyshev was sent to this seminar, after which he proceeded to refereeing [1] .

He acted as a defender for the club teams of Electrozavod, Stalinets, Moscow Dynamo - 1932 - 1942 . In 1942, he played for the Wings of the Soviets club , founded in Kuibyshev , and participated in the first away match of the team [2] .

In 1939 he was involved as a side judge in the matches of the Union Championship, and in 1940 he made his debut as the main referee in the match Dynamo (Leningrad) - Lokomotiv (Tbilisi) (2: 1).

FIFA Arbitrator (he was the first of the Soviet judges awarded this title - 1952 ), judge of the All-Union category ( 1941 ). As an referee in the field in the major league from 1940 to 1963 he spent about 200 matches. He judged the finals of the USSR Cup eight times ( 1947 , 1948 , 1950 , 1951 , 1952 , 1954 , 1955 , 1957 - a record among referees).

11 times included in the lists of the best football referees of the USSR .

Judged matches OI-52 ( Hungary - Romania ), OI-56 ( Great Britain - Thailand , Yugoslavia - India , Bulgaria - India ), World Cup-58 ( Sweden - Mexico , Wales - Hungary ), World Cup-62 ( Italy - Switzerland , England - Argentina , Hungary - Czechoslovakia , the final Brazil - Czechoslovakia , for which he was awarded the "FIFA Golden Whistle" ).

Member of the FIFA Judicial Committee - 1962 - 1984 (with a break), awarded the FIFA Order of Merit ( 1987 ). Chairman of the All-Union College of Judges - 1949 - 1973 , 1979 - 1983 .

He taught at the Moscow Machine Tool Institute ( 1947 - 1987 ), candidate of technical sciences ( 1954 ), was an assistant professor at the Department of Engineering Technology. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and Honor .

His very entrance to the field with the ball in his hands attracted spectators, inspired confidence. He did not deliberately invigorate, depicting a physical-ceremonial gait, and was not modest, wanting to show himself thereby "inconspicuous", as the judicial methods teach. He walked with a straight back, raising his head high, a man who knows his own worth, as if declaring in advance with his own sight that he would not succeed in conducting it, he knew all the little things and tricks. So an experienced teacher is going to give a lecture, which does not allow a single talk to funny, cunning-eyed students. And he is greeted with silence and respect ...

Life Facts

  • Latyshev is the only judge in the world who removed Lev Yashin from the field ( USSR Cup final in 1955. The reason for the removal was the moment when Yashin, who ran out of the goal in a game collision, struck army player Vladimir Agapov in the stomach. As a result of the removal, which happened in the 45th minute , Dynamo spent a whole time with a fielder in the goal and lost in the end 1: 2.
  • In 1951, the result of the final, which Latyshev judged, between the team of Mr. Kalinin and CDSA was canceled due to a protest from the Kalinin team , and a replay was appointed. Latyshev was offered to judge again, but he preferred to refuse (another arbiter, Belov, judged the replay).
